    Dubai uses AI to flag nearly 30,000 transport violations as tech detects speeding, seat belt and mobile phone rulebreakers

    Dubai is scaling up real-time AI oversight of its transport sector, with the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Smart Monitoring Centre logging more than 428, 000 situations throughout taxi and luxury fleets in just 7 months.

    The data-driven system, part of RTA’s Public Transport Firm, is main to improving conformity, identifying violations and improving traveler safety and security throughout the emirate.

    Saeed Al Balooshi, Director of Guest Transportation Activities Checking at RTA’s Public Transportation Firm, stated: “The centre videotaped over 428, 349 monitoring situations in the taxi and high-end transport sectors between January and July 2025

    “These caused determining 29, 886 instances of non-compliance with laws and guidelines. The tape-recorded instances included 3, 127 speeding violations, 652 cases of stopping working to use seat belts, and 4, 251 cases of utilizing smart phones while driving.

    “These surveillance and examination initiatives form part of RTA’s recurring dedication to boosting road security and strengthening public self-confidence in the transportation solutions given to all sections of the area.”

    Al Balooshi added that the centre is “broadening its scope” by incorporating brand-new AI-led surveillance settings that analyze taxi and high-end car motorist behavior.

    These enhancements develop part of future strategies targeted at improving the quality of solutions used to guests.

    The Smart Monitoring Centre oversees a series of transportation modes, consisting of taxis, high-end automobiles, bus lanes and e-hailing business in Dubai.

    It also takes care of and establishes electronic surveillance systems and is progressing strategies to automate infractions via the use of wise technologies.
