    Abu Dhabi Police warn distracted drivers as red-light fines hit $13,600

    Abu Dhabi Authorities have issued an advising to vehicle drivers to preserve complete focus while navigating crossways and traffic signals, cautioning that brief diversions continue to be a leading reason for serious road accidents in the emirate.

    The advisory places certain emphasis on the risks of vehicle driver negligence while going across traffic lights and making left turns, circumstances that cops state frequently lead to serious collisions.

    As component of initiatives to elevate public awareness, Abu Dhabi Authorities, in sychronisation with the Monitoring and Control Centre, launched video clip footage revealing real-life accidents triggered by a lack of emphasis and abrupt lorry variances.

    The resources’s police force stressed that multitasking behind the wheel, consisting of cellphone usage and other distracting behaviours, postures a considerable danger to public safety and security.

    Vehicle drivers were urged to continue to be sharp to pedestrian activity, road indicators and signals, and to strictly adhere to the guidelines of traffic patrol police officers.

    Abu Dhabi Police advised vehicle drivers of the severe lawful consequences stipulated under Regulation No. (5 of 2020 concerning lorry impoundment for red-light infractions.

    Fines include:

    • A penalty of AED 1, 000 ($ 272 and 12 black points added to the motorist’s document
    • 30 -day vehicle impoundment
    • A release fee of AED 50, 000 ($ 13, 613 to recover the taken car
    • A six-month driving licence suspension, beginning with the day of withdrawal

    The police made clear that failure to pay the AED 50, 000 ($ 13, 613 launch charge within three months will result in the lorry being referred for sale at a public auction.

    Abu Dhabi Authorities claimed the campaign serves as a tip that road security is a common obligation which rigorous adherence to website traffic regulations is vital to shielding lives and home throughout the resources’s road network.
